DR. ABC Intro to Drake Chamber Choir Tour Blog, See posts below in "Archives."

Drake Chamber Choir will tour England January 10-22.  We'll post daily blogs about our activities, as well as related photos, so you can share in our transformational experiences.  Because January 10 is a travel day and we won't arrive at our first destination until the evening of January 11, please be patient regarding our initial post.  Thereafter, posts will be made late evening, or more likely, early the  next morning for the previous day, depending on schedule and internet availability.  England is six hours ahead of U.S. time.

The tour stops/destinations are:
January 9 – 7:30 p.m., pre-tour concert at Grace United Methodist Church, 3700 Cottage Grove Avenue, Des Moines
January 10 - flight from Des Moines to Dallas; then overnight to London
January 11- arrive Heathrow at noon; meet tour manager and coach and head to Oxford, with a stop at Windsor
January 12 - local sight-seeing; 17.30 concert at Merton College Chapel, Oxford University
January 13 – travel through the Cotswolds, 17.30 evensong at Gloucester Cathedral
January 14 - guided tour of Stratford-upon-Avon; 12:00 concert at Holy Trinity Church
January 15 – walking tour of Coventry; 13.15 concert at Coventry Cathedral
January 16 – 13.10 concert in the Lady Chapel of Ely Cathedral; 20.00
Concert at St. John’s College Chapel, Cambridge University
January 17 – walking tour of Cambridge and visit to King’s College; travel to Essex for a 19.30 concert at St. Nicholas Parish Church; drive to London following concert
January 18 – sight-seeing in London, including the Tower of London
January 19 – day free; evening meal at pizza-making restaurant
January 20 – tour of Westminster Abbey; 17.00 evensong at St. Paul’s Cathedral
January 21 – 13.00 concert at St. Martin-in-the-Fields as part of the American Embassy’s performing arts series; attend performance of Les Miserables in the evening, followed by the farewell dinner


January 22- depart London at 13.25; arrive Des Moines at 10.20 p.m.
